I don’t know if this picture has been modified or not, but if it hasn’t just think of what this means!!!  Maybe heaven really is in a van down by the river!

Chris Farley reincarnated?

Whodunnit???

Date September 19, 2007

The other day, I was standing in our family room enjoying the great view out the windows when I noticed that one of the higher windows, ten feet up, had a huge hole and big crack in the bottom corner of the window:

I called the boys over and I’m sure you can guess what happened. Straight out of the old Family Circus cartoons. “Not Me” did it.

Not Me

Well unfortunately “Not Me” doesn’t have a very large bank account and he’s rather elusive anyway, so now “Me” gets to pay for it. Ouch. Julie and I both have a gut feeling that it was Logan. He has a little anger issue and likes to throw things when he gets mad. Julie says sometimes he reminds her of his Uncle Jeff when he was growing up. :) So we’re working on that with him. My guess is he got mad at something and just randomly threw whatever he was holding. He probably had no idea where it even went and didn’t see it break the window, because he really is sincere when he says it was “Not Me”. But maybe we’re wrong too and it really was “Not Me”. If anyone sees him anywhere, please let him know I’m looking for him. Thanks.

More sod fun!

Date September 19, 2007

We finished the sod on the east side of our driveway a couple weeks ago, so I wanted to show y’all how it looks. It was quite exciting seeing that bit get in. Many thanks to Kent, Jill, Josh, Jodi, and Christian for their help! The real good thing now is that we’ve basically got our main yard surrounded, with grass on the east and on the north and west parkways and our neighbors’ grass along the rear. Ha ha! We’ve got you now, yard! Of course, there’s still close to an acre that’s covered in thorny bush. That stuff is so nasty! Anyway, now that it’s surrounded we’re hoping the grass will just move in on the thorns. Yeah right. Well, anyway, hopefully we’ll get the rest seeded within a few weeks.

Me getting soaked by sprinklers on our new bit of sod.

The New Wheels!

Date September 16, 2007

OK, well, many of you have already seen the new car, because I’ve been very slow in blogging this month. But a couple weeks ago, we found a beautiful suburban that had leather, DVD and VHS system, low miles, immaculate inside, and $3000 tires and fancy rims. Not that the tires and rims were on my list of requirements, but they sure look cool. And the real kicker was, we got it for the same price we sold my beloved Tacoma for. Not bad! It’s so roomy and comfy inside! We still have the van and will keep it. It’s all paid for and we’ve only had to do one repair to it ever and it’s still under 100,000 miles so it’s still got tons of life. With the Energizer beater truck (it keeps going and going and going) that I got from my dad, I can get back and forth to work and Julie and the kids (including the twins once they’re born) can get around during the day just fine in the minivan to save gas. But we have the Suburban for family trips or those days when we just want to look cool with $3000 tires and fancy rims. Here’s some pics…

Praying Mantis Fun

Date September 16, 2007

The other day Soren was out of control and had to go to his room to cool down. After a few minutes I heard him screaming and thought he was mad at me again. I went to check on him, walked in his room, and he was standing with his back to his bed screaming hysterically and pointing to the wall right by his bedroom door where there was a Praying Mantis. He thought it was some kind of monster or something and I hugged him and his whole body was shaking. Poor little guy. So then I told him what it was and called up the other boys and they had some fun with him (the Mantis, not Soren) before carrying him outside and letting him go in the front yard. Here’s some fun pictures though.
